Q: Do you have a showroom where I can view your products?
A: Yes. We have a showroom located at Atria Shopping Centre in Damansara Jaya which contains many of the fine teak furniture collections, artifact, antique lighting and home decoration accessories.
Q: What is teak ?
A:Teak is a deciduous hardwood tree from the highlands of south-east Asia . Teakwood has a naturally high oil content which makes it both stable and resistant to rotting when exposed to climatic extremes. For several centuries these special qualities have made teakwood the preferred choice for marine decking and construction, and is the reason that it is considered the premium timber for indoor/outdoor furniture.
.
Q: What is reclaimed teak( Old wood)?
A:Reclaimed teak(old wood) is sourced from the purchase or barter of old houses, building, bridges, or other ancient teak timbers. These ancient and neglected houses/building have been standing between 50 to 200 years. The main frame construction and outer panels are made from teak and this lumber is carefully recovered for the fabrication of our unique furniture.
Q: How is your reclaimed teak processed?
A:The reclaimed teak is cleaned by hand with a wire brush to remove the outer weathered oxidized coating or old varnishes and paints. Nails or other hardware are removed and then it is planed square for production. Larger holes left by previous fittings, joints or hardware are filled with chunks of wood with the same grain orientation. The wood is then re-planed and sanded leaving us a smooth finish, prior to being crafted and assembled into new furniture. We overlook minor imperfections and discolorations as they are perfectly normal and add to the charm of our unique furniture and this has no effect on the stability of a finished piece.
Q:. Does your reclaimed teak furniture have a rustic look and feel?
A: Our reclaimed teak furniture is quite smooth to feel and does not have a very rustic appearance, as we aim to produce modern looking furniture from environmentally responsible raw materials. Note: if you do require a more rustic finish ,this is also possible at no extra cost.
Q: Do you use plywood, veneers or laminates in your furniture?
A: When you purchase a piece of teak furniture from Eureka Collections you are purchasing a future antique. All our furniture is constructed using only high quality solid teak wood. This includes cabinetry sides, backs and drawers bottoms.
Q: Your prices are higher than some of the other companies I have inquired with. Why?
A: The answer is simple. Quality. If you pay cheap prices, you will get cheap furniture. It's as simple as that.
